There are many other visas that you may qualify for.

When you are on a Permanent Visa, and 5 years has passed since you received it, you MUST apply for an RRV  (Return Resident Visa SC155). If you do not and you travel overseas, you will have problems returning to Australia. You should apply before you leave Australia, preferably at least 3 months before you fly.

Th extra time you may qualify for will depend on how long you have lived in Australia for the past 5 years. Ask us to check for you. If you have applied to be a citizen and been approved, you do NOT need a visa to travel in and out of Australia on an Australian passport.
